According to the American Prostate Society, a person who eats well will minimize their risk of prostate cancer while also supporting their body well if they should be diagnosed with the disease. Losing weight and getting exercise will also help to lower the risk of developing prostate cancer.
Avoiding a Family History
Most families who have a genetic predisposition toward cancer will find that getting testing regularly and early will help to prevent serious cases of prostate cancer. By getting tested at a younger age, a man will be able to monitor their health and hopefully avoid the cancer altogether. As prostate cancer is very treatable, however, it seems that early detection is just as much a cure as the treatments which are used.
